HOW TO ACCESS BANNED SITE
I know how embarrassing is it , when you try to access facebook, twitter or some other certain site on you CAN (Campus Area Network) or your office network, but you find that it is banned there. But a geek can always access the these site in any condition.
Followings are the methods, through which you can bypass the filter and access these sites.
1. Anonymous proxy sites
There are plenty of site, whose proxies can be used to surf anonymously, but most of the cases it don’t work because usually these proxy sites are itself blocked.
one of famous proxy site is
. There are plenty of proxy sites available on the web, google and find out.
2. Using Google Translator
Google translator is usually not blocked in most of networks. So it’s proxy is effective to visit band site. It has facility to translate the whole page using url of the site. Enter the url of blocked site and translate it to your own language. Translator will generate a translated page using its own proxy. I tested it in my university campus network, it worked, though you may have some problems in loging in the site. But Google Translator is definitely a good tool to view the pages.
3.Surfing via IP address
Some of the web filters can be bypassed by accessing the blocked page using the IP address instead of domain name. e.g. IP facebook can also be accessed using IP 69.63.181.12 . You can find out the IP address of certain site using command “PING” or you can use many site which translate the domain name to its IP address.
Additionally you can also try to surf using hexadecimal equivalent of IP address. Convert each decimal number of IP address (separated by dot) to hexadecimal and access the site using this hexadecimal IP address. e.g 45.3F.B5.C is the hexadecimal equivalent of 69.63.181.12 which is the IP address of facebook. There are plenty of site, where you can covert decimal to hexadecimal. Google it…
4.Redirection
You can use some free redirection service to access the blocked sites. Instead of accessing the site using its domain name, you should use redirection URL. You can use URL shortener service like goo.gl , bit.ly , tinyURL.com or dot.tk to redirect your site. If you are much into technical stuff, you can create your own redirect page, you can also use framing.
5. Using PHP Proxy Script
It’s little bit more technical, so I won’t discuss it here. If you are a geek then you don’t need this article, GIYF.
And if you are not a geek, you will fill it frustrating
6.Using sophisticated privacy Tools
UltraSurf is a boon! It’s the most famous and widely used powerful pro-privacy, anti-censorship software. And it’s Free, light and easy to use.
It’s developed by Ultrareach Internet Corp. which is dedicated to promotion of the free exchange of information and against the Internet privacy.
Along with bypassing the web filter it hide your IP and help you be anonymous on the Internet, so no one can trace you if you use ultrasurf. But bad thing is that it is available only for windows, Linux user can’t benefit from it. Following the official video of UltraSurf:
JonDo ,popularly known as JAP is yet another powerful tool for Internet security,pro-privacy and anti-censorship software. Good thing is that it is available for windows, mac, Linux and Java which is os independent. It has a free and a premium subscription. Though free service has limitation, it is enough for accessing blocked site. But in comparison to Ultrasurf it is not so portable. You have to install it in the system but ultrasurf don’t require installation. Following is a video tutorial on JonDo (not official):
Windows Installation
Linux Installation
TOR
According to my personal point of view, TOR is the best censorship circumvention tool, plus it also protect your privacy.
TOR is the most famous and most powerful free tool available.
Read my detail post on TOR here.

Contrary to popular belief, ‘anonymous’ proxy sites will report their logs if you are doing illegal acts, the service you
point out, Hide My Ass says in this in their TOS and blog…

Here is the indictment on the Lulzsec hacker busted this week using Hide My Ass: http://cryptome.org/0005/kretsinger-indict.pdf
There is a certain ‘individual’ in India that offers training re-branded as a certification bearing his own name, who recommends that you use Russian anonymous proxy servers ‘as they don’t keep their logs’
However since this “expert” is better known for heavily plagiarizing other security books, calling them as his own, spending his entire career talking about hacking and security, has never secured networks, however he can’t speak as an authority that Russian proxy servers won’t hand over your IP address just like Hide My Ass did this week.
In reality, there is no such thing as a one hop anonymous proxy service as mentioned throughout this posting, if you want considerably better security to securely surf the internet, or research unpopular sites, you should learn about The Onion Routers aka Tor.
http://www.torproject.org/
Tor was originally designed, implemented, and deployed as a third-generation onion routing project of the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. It was originally developed with the U.S. Navy in mind, for the primary purpose of protecting government communications. Today, it is used every day for a wide variety of purposes by normal people, the military, journalists, law enforcement officers, activists, and many others.
Using Tor is not easy, its not for the faint of heart, but used properly, will offer you better security than most anything else out there. (Short of hiring a cryptographer and writing your own software) There are Tor clients for most operating systems, and for near perfect security, and you feel comfortable running your own server, consider running a Tor server and help the Tor network expand. I hope the moderator of this blog writes a future article.
