Ubuntu 11.04 Unity Desktop to classic Genome in 3 steps
Ubuntu 11.04 , codename‘Natty Narwhal’ is the major release of Ubuntu which changed the classic Genome desktop environment to new Ubuntu desktop environment, named ‘Unity Desktop’.

For few, including me this new desktop interface is very annoying. But still you can enjoy your familiar Genome classic desktop environment. Turning Ubuntu Unity to Classical genome interface is very simple. Here are three steps:
1. Search for ‘login’ in the ‘Dash’, which you will get by clicking on Ubuntu logo at the top left corner of the Unity Desktop of Natty Narwhal.
2. Open ‘login Screen’ and unlock it by entering password.
3.In login Screen window, from drop down menu, select ‘Ubuntu Classic’ as default session. Close it and restart your system.
All done! Enjoy Ubuntu 11.04 in classic environment. Bellow is the screenshot of Unity Desktop transformed back to Genome Classic Desktop Environment.
